James Hardy "J.H." Moore, 80, of Alapaha, died Monday September 5, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Tifon.
He was born October 31, 1935 in Prentiss County, MS to the late Howard Moore and the late Ruby Lee Wright Moore. He was the retired owner of J.H. Moore Trucking Co., retired Fire Chief with almost 19 years of service with the town of Alapaha and a member of the Alapaha Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister: Judy Essary.
He is survived by 2 daughters: Elaine of Byron and Doris of Alapaha; 2 sons: Dexter of Alapaha and Danny of Nashville; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother: Hilton Moore of Iuka MS and several nieces.
The family will honor his request for cremation. A memorial service will be held Thursday September 8, 2016 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Fender officiating. Visitation will be just prior to the service on Thursday.
