Obituary

James Edward May, 79, of Nashville, died Tuesday July 8, 2025, at the residence of his daughter in Tifton.

He was born June 15, 1946, in Berrien County to the late Dewey Clayton "D.C." May and the late Kathleen Mildred Bailey May. He graduated from Albany State University with a MBA, and was a data program administrator with the University System of Georgia, Navy veteran, member and deacon of Hope Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife: Nancy Margaret Laymon May who died in 2022, 2 brothers and a sister-in-law: Billy Jack May, Dewey May and Beatrice May

He is survived by 2 daughters: Dawn (Randy) Hancock of Nashville and Michelle (Jon) Teegardin of Tifton; brother: Wayne (Barbara) May of Nashville; 5 grandchildren: Cortney May, Kaitlyn Teegardin, Collin Teegardin, Dale Hancock and Hannah Hancock; sister-in-law: Weida May of Nashville.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 10, 2025, at 7 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Hughes and Rev. Torry Hanchey officiating. Visitation will be held in funeral home one hour prior to the service.
