Obituary

James Dexter Moore, 62, of Alapaha died Wednesday August 14, 2019 at his residence.

He was born January 11, 1957 in Irwin County to the late James Hardy Moore and the late Marie Paulk Outten.  He was employed with Elixir in Douglas for 31 years as a forklift operator and drove a truck for Moore Trucking.  He attended Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church,  loved his family, fishing and truck driving.  He was preceded in death by his wife: Janice Moore; son: James Russell Moore.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Courtney Moore of Axson and Lindsey Moore of Alapaha; 3 sisters: Elaine McRae of Byron, Doris (Johnny) Edge of Alapaha and Dawn (George) Gibbs of Tifton; brother: Danny Brooks of Nashville; grandson: Brantley; special friends: Rebecca (Tim) Roton of Alapaha and Sharon Harris of Alapaha.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 17, 2019 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Paron Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service.
