James Richard Phillips, 90, of Ray City, died Friday April 8, 2016 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born June 29, 1925 in Elba, Alabama to the late James Ester Phillips and the late Lilly May Chapman. He was a retired computer analysis Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Ray City First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife: Lucy Phillips.
He is survived by 3 daughters: Janie (Gary) Nitz of Warner Robins, Nedda (Tip) Hon of Ray City and Sherry (Stanley)
Peake of Knoxville, TN; 2 sons: Richard (Jean) Phillips of Navarre, FL and Joey (Robert Griffis) Phillips of Jacksonville, FL;
sister: Jean Brannon of Defuniak Springs, FL; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 12, 2016 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home.
Interment with follow in the Beaver Dam Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
