James Paul Register, Jr. passed away November 22, 2025, in St. Augustine, Fl.

He was born June 28, 1943, to his parents Nancy Browning Register and J. P. Register Sr., WWII vet, whom he cared for until their passing. He spent his childhood in Nashville, Georgia. His beloved grandmother, Rhoda Corbitt Browning helped raise him in Nashville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Joann Pafford, Anita Edminster and Elaine Patrick. He is survived by one sister, Linda Nix and family of St. Augustine, Fl and 13 nieces and nephews as well as many family in Georgia; faithful first cousin Vivian Browning of Vilano Beach, Fl and Brian Bowman, St. Augustine, Fl, decades-long devoted friend, co-worker and caretaker. James Paul worked in the Historic District of St. Augustine, Fl for the Florida Dept. of State and the St. Augustine Preservation Board. He gave over 30 years of service before his retirement.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 4, 2025, at 11 AM in the Poplar Springs Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Guy officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
