James Robert Stone, 78, of Willacoochee died Thursday September 17, 2015 in Tift Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 20, 1936 in Berrien County to the late Marcus Stone and the late Cora Lee McMillan Stone. He was a forklift mechanic for Proctor and Gamble and the Carlton Company. He was also part owner of Dean's BBQ in Nashville. He was a 4 year veteran of the Air Force and a member Bible Truth Tabernacle in Tifton. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Laverne Stone, Billy Joe Stone, and Leroy Stone.
He is survived by his wife: Nadine Harrell Stone of Willacoochee; 2 daughters: Geraldine (Steve) Strickland of Moultrie and Debbie (Junior) Stone of Willacoochee; son: Harold (Debra L.) Stone of Nashville; 2 sisters: Betty Godwin of Sylvester and Elizabeth Gray of Sylvester; 2 brothers: Malcolm Stone of Nashville and Jesse Stone of Nashville; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
The family will honor his request for cremation. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Watson officiating.
