Linda Jane "Janie" Brooks, 63, of Nashville, died Sunday February 12, 2023 at her residence.

She was born August 29, 1959 in Athens, TN to the late Jacob Lee Benton and the late Kathleen Snead Goodman. She worked at Nashville Textile for many years and Vulcan Steel in the purchasing department. She was loved by her family and was known as "G-maw". She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father: J.B. Goodman, 3 sisters: Annetta Brady, June Cooper and Betty Browning; 2 brothers: David Benton and J.L. Goodman.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Joella (Steve) Adams of Nashville and Callie (Chase) Harrell of Lenox; son: Rocky (Jessica) Stone of Alapaha; 4 sisters: Diane (Mike) Sirmans of Valdosta, Nancy (Duane) Flippo of Poulan, Peggy Goodman of Blackshear and Pauline (Darrell) Blount of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: Kymber Stone, Carolina Harrell and Margo Harrell; fur baby: Darla; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 15, 2023 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Wednesday one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Humane Society.
