Obituary

Jeffrey Kyle Lightsey, 36, of Alapaha died Sunday, June 27, 2021 in Berrien County.

He was born October 17, 1984 in Tift County to James Ellis Lightsey and the late Sherry Baldree.

He was a Lanier County Deputy Sheriff  certified as a K-9 and drug interdiction officer. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps with the rank of sergeant and served in Iraq where he was awarded the Purple Heart.  He was a member of  AMVETS, the Purple Heart Association and Combat Veteran's Motorcycle Association.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Carrie Castleberry who died in 2002.

He is survived by his son: Dylan Lightsey of Nashville; daughter: Madison Lightsey of Nashville; father and mother: James and Emily Lightsey of Rocky Face; two sisters: Christy Hamilton (Danny) Pattilo  of Conyers and April Hamilton of Enigma; brother: Kevin Lightsey of Orlando, FL.; mother of his children: Deanna Lightsey of Nashville.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday June 30, 2021 at 11 am in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. R.T. Castleberry and Rev. Stan Stalvey officiating.  Interment with military  honors will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens.  Visitation is Tuesday 6-8 pm.
