Obituary

Jerald Bascom Starling, 85, of Nashville, died Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Fellowship Home in Nashville.

He was born July 10, 1940, in Lanier County to the late Bascom Starling and the late Rhoda Register Starling. He was a retired Master Sergent in the U.S. Air Force with 21 years of service. He was a member and Deacon of West Creek Baptist Church in Batesburg, SC. and was preceded in death by his wife: Jean Waters Starling.

He is survived by 4 sisters: Christine Jones of Watkinsville, La Delta Doran of Nashville, Eloise Carter of Nashville, and Sandra Richardson of Valdosta; 3 brothers: Elbert Starling, Dwight Starling, and Donald Starling all of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will held Friday, October 3, 2025, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Hinton and Rev. Deran Hardeman officiating. Interment will follow in Burnt Church Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation is in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
