William Jerome "Jere" Griffin, 67, of Valdosta, died Monday April 10, 2023 at SGMC Smith Northview Hospital.

He was born February 21, 1956 in Hahira to the late Wesley Hamilton Griffin and Rose Marie Devane Griffin. He graduated from East Hall High School in Gainesville, GA and VSU in 2008. He worked for 17 years at VSU in the maintenance accounting department and served in the United States Marines for 8 years.

He is survived by his daughter: Sharie (Kevin Abbott) Griffin of Fort Worth, TX; mother: Rose Marie Griffin of Nashville; sister: Pam Pierce of Nashville; brother: Mike (Nancy) Griffin of Hackettstown, NJ; former wife: Wanda Griffin of Fort Worth, TX; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His family will honor his request for cremation. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday April 20, 2023 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. R.T. Castleberry officiating.
