John Jerome Chambless and John Jay Chambless Memorial Service

John Jerome Chambless, 67, of Santa Rosa, California passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at his residence where he had lived for the past 10 years.
He was born June 2, 1955, at Naval Air Station Chincoteague, VA to the late John J. Chambless of Nashville, GA, and Elsie Bryant Chambless of Magnolia Manor Retirement Community, St. Simons Island, GA.
Jerome grew up in Nashville, attended the First Baptist Church and graduated from Berrien County High School with Honors in 1973. Upon graduation from Valdosta State College with a degree in Biology and Chemistry, he taught school in Georgia and North Carolina.
Jerome was an educator, entrepreneur and inventor of soil remediation processes and practices which led him to become a private contractor to serve in Afghanistan to teach farmers in the Afghan villages soil practices, water conservation, and how to deal with environmental issues in their country. After his return from Afghanistan, Jerome relocated to Santa Rosa, CA to become a nutritionist and study alternative medicine to help others.
Jerome was preceded in death by his father, John J Chambless of Nashville, GA. a sister, Gwendolyn Chambless Hester of Atlanta, GA; and a son, John Jay Chambless of Ashville, NC.
Jerome is survived by his mother, Elsie Bryant Chambless of St. Simons Island, Ga; sister, Elaine C. Connell of St. Simons Island, Ga; brother, Vernon Lee Chambless (Angela Chambless) of Waycross, GA; wife, Sandra Barber Chambless, Waycross, GA; daughter, Jennifer Marie Chambless, Waycross, GA; grandson, Carter Gage Chambless, Kalamazoo, MI; aunt, Wanda Byrant Gray, Perry, GA; cousins, nephews and nieces.
John Jay Chambless was born on January 5,1986 in Valdosta, GA to John Jerome Chambless and Sandra Barber Chambless. Jay grew up in Nashville, Valdosta, and North Carolia.
Jay passed away after a short illness on May 27, 2019, in Ashville, NC.
Jay is survived by his grandmother, Elsie Bryant Chambless; mother, Sandra Barber Chambless and sister Jennifer Marie Chambless of Waycross, GA and son Carter Gage Chambless of Kalamazoo, MI.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Don Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Nashville, Ga.
The visitation is thirty minutes prior to the service.
