Jerry Ralph Hyers, 75, of Alapaha, died Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at his residence.

He was born August 18, 1950, in Hazlehurst to the late Harold Gnatt Hyers and the late Eddie Lee Mims Hyers. He owned and operated Harold’s Garden Center in Hazlehurst for years and retired from Atlas in Alapaha. He loved his family, grandchildren, growing flowers, cooking and fishing. He was a member of Glory Church and loved his dog “Buster”.

He is survived by his wife: Kathy Maye Hyers of Alapaha; 2 daughters: Kara Hyers of Alapaha and Amanda (Stevie) Davis of Enigma; 2 sons: Jeremy (Misty) Hyers of Alapaha and Sam Hyers of Alapaha; sister: Pat Thigpen of Cobbtown; 2 brothers: Mike Hyers of Hazelhurst and Greg Hyers of Hazlehurst; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11 AM in Glory Church with Rev. Larry Hauser officiating. Interment will follow in Glory cemetery. Visitation is Saturday in the church one hour prior to the service.
