Jerry Lawton "Jocko" Griner, 67, died January 10, 2013 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 6, 1946 to the late J.E. Clayton Griner and the late Mary Ruth Hodges in Atkinson County. He was a very devoted farmer and horseman. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Jackie Griner, Jimmy Griner, and Renna Griner.
He is survived by his wife: Rhonda Saviluoto Griner of Nashville; 3 daughters: Kristie Terrell of Nashville, Reejeana (Keith) Purvis of Alapaha, and Charleen (Michael) James of Adel; son: Bobby (Sandy) Tuttle of Nashville; 5 grandchildren: Allison Terrell, Meagan Terrell, Katelyn Tuttle, Harley Tuttle, and Kade Lawton Purvis.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 13, 2013 at 3 PM in the Open Door Baptist Church with the Rev. Gary James and the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 7 to 9 PM.
