John Hill “J.H.” Exum, Jr, 90, of Nashville, died Saturday, October 10, 2026, at his residence.

He was born June 29, 1936, in Berrien County to the late John Hill Exum and the late Avie Nadine Simms Exum. He retired from Nashville Mills with 36 years of service and was a member and deacon at Flat Creek Church. He loved his family, riding his tractor, restoring antique cars and tractors and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his sister: Avie Lee and a great granddaughter: Finnley Raine Tomberlin.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Jean Harnage Exum of Nashville; 2 daughters: Tammy (Joe) Kent of Nashville and Iris Exum of Nashville; son: Dale (Jonna) Exum of Nashville; 8 grandchildren: Justin (Tracy) Kent, Austin (Leah) Tomberlin, Brad (Michelle) Exum, Jay Tomberlin, Gina (Jacob) Hartsfield, Eric (Lauren) Exum, Dr. John Tyler (Mary Alex) Exum and Audra (Jim) Barker; 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary James officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat Creek cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Flat Creek Church or The Caring Place.
