Obituary

James Preston "Jim" Seward, Jr., 80 of Nashville, died Tuesday October 31, 2023 at his residence.

He was born October 6, 1943 in Bibb County to the late James Preston Seward and the late Mary Ruth Thurston Seward. He was associated with the former Nashville Mills as an accountant. He was the former administrator for Berrien County Hospital and retired as a hospital consultant with Iasis Health Care. He graduated from Georgia Tech where he was a scholarship football player for Bobby Dodd and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He was a member of Nashville Methodist Church and a charter member of the Nashville Berrien Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by a step son: Timmy Brogdon.

He is survived by his wife Judy Lott Seward of Nashville; son: Preston Seward of Dallas, TX; daughter: Tracy (John) Sweet of Pierceton, IN; step daughter: Kim (Phillip) Simmons of West Berrien; brother: Tommy (Ann) Seward of Perry; 2 sisters: Deanna (Jay) Sanders of Milledgeville and Dawn (Craig) Murphey of Milledgeville; 4 grandchildren: Becky Fields, Chase Seward, Kal Simmons and Kellie Philpot.

Funeral services will be held Friday November 3, 2023 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview cemetery. Visitation is Friday one hour prior to the service.
