Jimmy Harrod, 76, of Ray City died Friday, December 5, 2025, at his residence.

He was born February 4, 1949, in Lowndes County to the late D.C. Harrod and the late Ira Bell Thompson Harrod. He was a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, loved fishing and the outdoors. He was the widower of Ruby Carter Harrod who died in 2023. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Henry Harrod and Larry Harrod.

He is survived by a daughter: Tonya (Jason) Kelley of Adel; 3 sons: Bret Odum of Ray City, Kevin (Tonia) Harrod of Ray City and Shawn (Billie) Harrod of Naylor; a brother: Pixie (Donna) Harrod of Nashville; 9 grandchildren: Joshua Kelley, Mackenzie Kelley, Erica Harrod, Maggie Kelley, Austin Harrod, Emma Odum, Zachary Tichy, David Hallam and Caitlin Tichy; 2 great-grandchildren: Jax Kelley and Presley Kelley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 8, 2025, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with family members providing the eulogy. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
