Joseph Eddie "Joe Ed" Barrentine, 69, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday May 2, 2024 at his residence.

He was born December 14, 1954 in Tift County to the late Eutychus Barrentine and the late Elsie Brogdon Barrentine. He was a meat cutter with the J.H. Harvey Co and Food Lion. He owned and operated Barrentine Poultry House Builder's, loved spending time with his family, traveling and the beach. He was preceded in death by a brother: Michael David Barrentine and a nephew: Jason Watson.

He is survived by his wife: Lisa Jackson Barrentine of Fitzgerald; son: Devan (Leslie) Barrentine of Fitzgerald; 2 daughters: Jennifer (Ben) Roberts of Leesburg and Christina Redding of Conyers; step children: Ben Jackson of Nashville and Kristen Kreager of Nashville; 2 sisters: Joanna (Jimmy) Watson of Nashville and Alice (Max) Eddy of Madison, AL; brother: Earl (Patricia)  Barrentine of Nashville; 5 grandchildren: Chelsea Redding, Jadyn Roberts, Mayce Roberts, Corey Barrentine and Aubree Barrentine; great grandson: Eli "Dude" Redding; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 6, 2024 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Luke officiating. Interment will follow in the Lax Community Cemetery in Wray. Visitation is Sunday from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home.
