Joseph Henry "Joe" Rowan, 86, of Nashville died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 21, 1939, in Berrien County to the late William Henry Rowan and the late Lula Hill Rowan. He was a retired Sergeant in the United States Army after 28 years of service and owned and operated J.J. Home Improvements. He was a volunteer fireman with the Nashville Fire Department, enjoyed racing cars and was member of Nashville Methodist Church. He was a Mason and Shriner for 50 years, served in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart, member of the VFW and American Legion. He is preceded in death by a brother: Billy C. Rowan.
He is survived by a daughter: Amy (Jamie) White of Nashville; son: Joe (Lisa) Rowan, Jr of Ashburn; 7 grandchildren: Austin Rowan, Cameron Rowan, Karlee Rowan all of Ashburn, Elizabeth (TJ) Bryant of Lenox, Hunter White, Tim Mixon and Drew Mixon all of Nashville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Mickey Lindsey and Rev. Mark Addington officiating. Interment will follow in Long Bridge cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
