Joe Allen Towles, Jr., 69, of Alapaha died Monday April 2, 2018 in the VA Hospital in Gainesville, FL.

He was born November 6, 1948 in Lowndes County to the late Joe Allen Towles and the late Nettie May Murray Towles.  He was a sheet metal mechanic, roofer, a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam and a member of Alapaha Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Griffin Towles of Alapaha; 4 daughters: Sheray Towles of Douglas, Christine Herring of Alapaha, Autumn Towles of Nashville and Angela Towles of Lakeland; son: Joe Allen Towles, III of Nashville; 9 grandchildren; mother-in-law: Dorothy Griffin of Alapaha.

Funeral services will be held Friday April 6, 2018 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Cason officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Paron Cemetery.  Visitation is Thursday 6-8.
