Obituary

Joel Franklin "Joey" Watson, 61, of Nashville, died Monday May 18, 2020 at his residence.

He was born September 6, 1958 in Lowndes County to the late Lewis Eugene Watson, Jr and the late Marjorie Futch Watson. He was a farmer, owner of the Cadillac Ranch for 20 years and a member of the Nashville United Methodist Church. His sense of humor and unmatched personality made him a friend to everyone. He was the baby of 6 children and  a beloved father who raised his children to be strong and independent members of society. He was a dedicated farmer who could do anything with a tractor; even if he did break a few in the process.

He is survived by his wife: Cindy Watson of Nashville; daughter: Lyndsay Watson of Atlanta; son: Nick (Jessica) Watson of Nashville; step daughter: Charley LaMontagne of Hahira; 2 step sons: Ricky Browning of Hahira and Chase Browning of Atlanta; four sisters: Marge Morris of Nashville; Brenda Deloach of Nashville, Lou McNabb of Tifton and Robbie Muschamp of Blue Ridge; brother: L. E. Watson, III of Nashville; six grandchildren: Kate Watson, Joel Watson, Ellie Browning, Layla LaMontagne, Parker Browning and Olivia Browning.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday May 19, 2020 beginning 4 pm at the Watson Cabin. All family and friends are welcome.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joey Watson Agricultural Scholarship; Care of Bank of Alapaha.
