John Allchin, 60, of Nashville died Friday July 31, 2020.
He was born June 15, 1960 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late Richard Allchin and the late Jennie May Shively Schools. He was employed with WinFab as a Saw Mill supervisor. He was a very active member of Nashville United Methodist Church and was involved with the KAIROS Ministries. He was a past member of Valdosta Christian BASS Masters, where he won several awards and was an accomplished poet. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was preceded in death by his step father: William G. "Sonny" Schools and a brother: Richard "Rick" Allchin, Jr.
He is survived by his wife: Lorrie Cone Allchin of Nashville; son: John (Amanda) Allchin, Jr. of Ray City two daughters: Kelly (Clinton) Gray of Daphne, AL and Michelle (Steven) Carter of Lake Park; two sisters: Jennie (Arthur) Braziel of Ocilla and Julie (Ronnie) Koncz of Cape Coral, FL; four brothers: Bill (Susan) Schools, Jeff (Holly) Schools, David (Tina) Schools, and Tim (Rachel) Schools all of Ray City; four grandchildren: Delaney, Haynes, Isla and Bryleigh; special aunt: Ruth Shively of Ray City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family funeral service due to seating will be held Tuesday August 4, 2020 at 5 PM in the Nashville United Methodist Church Family Life Center with the Rev. Mark Addington officiating. Friends desiring to attend, may view the service in the Nashville United Methodist Church sanctuary or join the family in the cemetery for the interment. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nashville United Methodist Church. A mask is required if attending services at the church and there will not be a public visitation.
