John Allon Boatright, 90, of Valdosta, formerly of Brunswick, died Tuesday August 16, 2022 in the Langdale Hospice House.
He was born November 24, 1931 in Alma, GA to the late Wiley Herman Boatright and the late Ira Deen Boatright. He was a true salesman, especially cars, and owned and operated Boatright Motors in Folkston, GA for a number of years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, veteran of the United States Air Force and served in Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by 2 sons: John Jeffery Boatright and John Allon Boatright II; daughter-in-law: Debra Lyn Boatright; 2 sisters: Beverly Sarah Frances Boatright Cecire and Katherine Boatright Woods; 2 brothers: Edward Deen Boatright and Herman Clayton Boatright.
He is survived by his wife: Ann Rogers Boatright of Valdosta; son: John Phillip Boatright of Roy, Utah; daughter-in-law: Libby Garner Boatright of Valdosta; 12 grandchildren: Mitchel John (Kristy) Boatright, Bethann Boatright (Paul) Mahnke, Meghan Boatright (Carl) Gibson, John Christopher Boatright, Ashlin Boatright (Sam) Heath, John Jeffery Boatright, Jr, John Mikell Boatright, Janna Boatright (Austin) Walton, John Allon (Jay) Boatright III and Maggie Elizabeth Boatright.
Funeral services will be held Saturday August 20, 2022 at 11 AM in Waycross Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Scott Mathis, Mr. Corey Pittman and Captain Greggory Boatright officiating. Interment will follow in the Screven City cemetery. Visitation is Saturday in the church one hour prior to the service.
