John Monroe Jones, Jr, 74, of Nashville, died Sunday December 11, 2011 at his residence.
He was born April 10, 1937 in Savannah, Georgia to the late John Monroe Jones and the late Etta Ward. He retired from the United States Air Force as a M/SGT. He was a member of Vickers Church and attended Flat Creek Baptist Church. He was a Vietnam Veteran, member of the Nashville VFW, and member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife: Mary McLellan Jones of Nashville; 2 daughters: Donna (Mel) Browning, Faye (Larry) Witt all of Nashville; 2 sisters: Barbara Harris of Merced, Ca, and Marian Terry of Moreno Valley, Ca; 8 grandchildren: Michael, Melanie, Becky, Matthew, Mitchell, Nicole, Perryn, and Shawn; 7 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, and 5 nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Johnnie Sue Connell who died in 1994, sister: Betty Lancon, and brother: Marvin Jones.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 14, 2011 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey and the Rev. Joe Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens will full military honors. Visitation is Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM.
