John Paul "Johnny" Connell, Jr., 74, of Nashville died Monday May 25, 2020 in Tift Regional Medical Center.

He was born August 2, 1945 in Cook County to the late John Paul Connell and the late Velma Harrell Connell.  He retired from Nashville Mills after forty years as a weaver and was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He served in the United States Marine Corps and he loved all sports.

He survived by his wife: Candice Lee Connell of Nashville; two sons: Joseph Connell and Jonathan Connell both of Nashville; sister: Toni MacDonald of Atlanta; two nieces: Teesa and Hope; two nephews: Patrick and Anthony.

The family will honor his request for cremation and a memorial service will be held at  a later date.
