Johnny Petty, 73, of West Berrien, died Tuesday September 25, 2012 at his residence.
He was born November 26, 1938 in Starkville, MS to the late John Petty and the late Linnie Belle Price. He was a mechanic and a member of Flat Creek Church. He also served in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by a sister: Loretta Phillips.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley Gunter Petty of West Berrien; son: Anthony Petty of Tilane, KY; 2 granddaughters: Brittany and Amanda; sister: Marilyn Dewberry of Maben, MS; 2 brothers: Sidney Petty of Starkville, MS and Gilbert Petty of Thomasville, NC; a beloved Boston Terrier: Tater Bug.
Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday September 27, 2012 at 11 AM in the Flat Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Visitation will be held at the cemetery prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Health Care Advocates / 410 E McPherson Ave. / Nashville, GA 31639.
