Rev. Johnny Laverne Smith, 70, of Nashville, died Friday November 26, 2021, at SGMC in Valdosta.

He was born March 9, 1951 in Cook County to the late Charlie Smith and the late Ruby Lane Smith. He was a carpenter, the pastor of the Nashville Holiness Church for 22 years and served in the United States Army. Brother Johnny, loved his family, always enjoyed talking to anyone, faithfully served his church and loved being a pastor.

He is survived by his wife: Brenda Rowan Smith of Nashville; 2 sons; Kenneth C. (Allison) Smith of Hahira and Rev. Timothy L. (Patricia) Smith of Pavo; sister: Sara Kelly of Nashville; 6 grandchildren: Ashley, Justin, Brett, Bubba, Tripp and Landen; 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday November 28, 2021 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Timothy L. Smith and Mr. Kenneth C. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Nashville Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Sunday one hour prior to the service.
