Johnny Lee Whidden, 63, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday February 28, 2012 at his residence.
He was born January 29, 1949 in Thomasville, Georgia to the late Esau James Whidden and Mary Ethel Long. He was a self employed insurance agent with Whidden Insurance in Fitzgerald and Whidden-Cowart Insurance in Nashville. He was a member of the Fitzgerald First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter: Julie (Jody) Long of Macon; son: John (Carrie) Whidden of Nashville; mother Mary Ethel Whidden of Nashville; sister: Anne Whidden Young of Las Vegas, NV; 2 brothers: Jim (Sue) Whidden of Nashville and Jack (Scharline) Whidden of Moorehead, KY; 3 grandchildren: Susanna Whidden, Claire Whidden, and Merrill Long; special friend: Mona Paulk of Ocilla; mother of his children: Nancy Whidden of Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 2, 2012 at 2 PM in the Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Luke and the Rev. Mike Ruffin officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
