Obituary

Josephine T. Joyce, 85, of West Berrien Community, died Saturday January 8, 2022 at her residence.

She was born April 5, 1936 in Worth County to the late Martin Taylor and the late Maliscia Holloway Taylor. She was a homemaker who worked numerous jobs to provide and care for her family. She was a woman of true words, who loved her garden, flowers, fishing, her mother, her family and her Jesus. She was a member of Flat Creek Church and was the widow of William Marshall Joyce who died in 2019. She was also preceded in death by 5 sisters: Gertrude Barber, Ruth Harris, Grace Friar, Geraldine Champa and Trudie McNabb; 4 brothers: James Taylor, Reuben Taylor, Riley Taylor and Rancil Taylor.

She is survived by 2 daughters: June (Lamar) Harris of Alapaha and Vicky Boyd of West Berrien; son: Arnold (Lita) Rowan of West Berrien; sister: Rudine Schmittou of West Berrien; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; her puppies: Little Man and Sugar.

Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday January 12, 2022 at 2 PM in the Vickers Cemetery with the Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiating. Visitation will be in the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service.
