Joyce Benefield, 71, of Nashville died Thursday, May 8, 2025, at her residence.

She was born on July 6, 1953, in Worth County to the late William Norris Manders and the late Erma Pearl Renew Manders. She worked with Tifton Aluminum as a cutter, was a waitress at Shoney's in Tifton for years, Peter Pan in Sylvester and a cashier at Food Lion in Tifton. She loved music, dancing, singing, painting, sewing and playing the spoons. She was the widow of James Donald Benefield who died in 2013 and was also preceded in death a son: Donald Dwayne Benefield; granddaughter: Shariah Washington; 3 brothers: Jerry Manders, Bobby Manders and Norman Manders.

She is survived by 2 daughters Tammy (Jason) Benefield Rush of Yulee, FL and Lisa Benefield of Jacksonville, FL; son: Robert (Chrystal) Benefield of Nashville; 9 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Janey (Rev. Larry) Walker of Brookfield and Betty Sue Manders of Ty Ty; brother: Ricky Manders of Sylvester; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Walker, Deacon Ricky Manders officiating and Angie Williamson will give a eulogy. Interment will follow in Vickers Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
