Juanell Guthrie Mathis, 88, of Nashville, died Sunday September 4, 2016 in the South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born October 29, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Caulie Guthrie and the late Nora Watson Guthrie. She was a homemaker, a retired clerk with B. C. Moore's, and a member of Guthrie Baptist Church. She was the widow of James Venton "J.V." Mathis who died in 1997. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Gladys Guthrie.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Joiner of Nashville; 2 granddaughters: Kim (Timmy) Spell of Adel and Jennifer (Kylon) Fort of Nashville; 4 great grandchildren: Timothy Spell, Caroline Spell, Grant Fort, and Bruce Fort.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday September 7, 2016 at 4 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Bryan Layton and Rev. Mark Swain officiating. Interment will follow in the Guthrie Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.
