Julian A. Vickers, 87, of Nashville died Wednesday October 10, 2018 in Tift Regional Medical Center.
He was born October 27, 1930 in Berrien County to the late Freddy Pendleton Vickers and the late Rhoda Ellen Tyson. He was a retired construction superintendent with Southern Concrete and a member of Nashville First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister: Maggie Vaughn and 2 brothers: Bennie Vickers and Gene Vickers.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Betty Irene Shaw Vickers of Nashville; 2 daughters: Sherry (Jim) Penland of Manama, Bahrain and Tammy (Scott) Sherrod of Gatlinburg, TN; son: Greg (Alveta) Vickers of Nashville; brother: Wayne Vickers of McRae-Helena; 4 sisters: Ann Bohanon of Clearwater, FL, Ava Ramsey of Valdosta, Jo Ann Culpepper of Valdosta and Fay Zittrower of Savannah; 4 grandchildren: Gregory (Nicole) Vickers of Nashville, Bill Penland of Los Angeles, CA,Brittany Hyre Anculle of Michigan and Brianna Hyre of South Carolina; 2 great grandchildren: Clara and Duncan.
Funeral services will be held Monday October 15, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Ray and Rev. Gary Keffer officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 7-9 PM.
