Obituary

J.W. Hendley, 81, of Nashville, passed away on the morning of December 26, 2024 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.

A lifelong resident of Berrien County, he was born on September 28, 1943 to June Felton Hendley and Belle Sutton Hendley. He was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Brooks and a brother, Bud Hendley. After graduating from Berrien High School, he attended Abraham Baldwin College and then operated a logging company. In 1991, he created, along with the help of Shirley, a business that had been a life long dream, Fiberglass Concepts. He and Shirley operated the business until 2022 when J.W. retired and closed the doors.

J.W. Hendley was a man you could trust and count on. He was generous and compassionate. He developed many friendships here and in his adoptive hometown of Steinhatchee, FL. He will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years: Shirley Guest Hendley of Nashville; son: Jim (Donna) Hendley of Nashville; daughter; Christi Williams of Nashville; 5 grandchildren: Bill Kaufman, Joe Kaufman, Drew Nix, Meg Williams and Shaliegne Kaufman; 5 great grandchildren: Ethan, Zoe, Harper, Hadley and Cooper.

A memorial service will be held Sunday December 29, 2024 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home.
