Kathleen Mathis Boyd, 95, of Nashville was called to her heavenly home on Saturday, July 18, 2026.
She was born June 30, 1931, in Berrien County to the late G.W. and Odessa Connell Mathis. She was married to the love of her life, Charlie W. Boyd for more than 50 years before he passed away in 2003. She was a homemaker before returning to school to become a nurse in 1965. She worked as a nurse at Berrien County Hospital and Berrien Nursing Center before retirement. She loved flowers, gardening, fishing, and travel, but above all things, she cherished her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Boyd, her sons, Darrell and Bill Boyd, her siblings, Clara Mae Webb, Evie Vaughn, Mary Nell Parker, Geraldine Ketchens, and Franklin Mathis.
She is survived by her children, Rickey (Deborah) Boyd of Nashville, Janice (Sammy) Hall of Nashville, Lyle (Cheryl) Boyd of Ray City; her grandchildren, Daryl Anne (Will) Stanfield, Beth (Wade) Hand, Lee Hall, Nicole (Nick) Barker, Kayleigh Hall, Ashleigh (Shannon) Hornbuckle Ericka (Skyler) Pittman, Makinzy Boyd, Jody Boyd; 9 great-grandchildren, Jackson Hand, Sammy Lee (Kendryck) Hand, Maggie (Landen) Woody, Abby Hughes, Bentley Watson, Sadler Pittman, Reed Hornbuckle, Lane and Case Barker; one great-great grandchild, Hudson Hand; siblings Maxine Walls of Crystal River, FL, Gail Rice of Valdosta, and Larry Mathis of Adel; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Scotty Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in the Poplar Springs Church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday one hour prior to service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Hospice of TiftArea or Poplar Springs Church Cemetery Fund.
