Kathleen Polk, 84, of Valdosta, died Sunday January 1, 2012 at her residence.
She was born August 30, 1927 in Berrien County to the late Walter W. Lewis and the late Girlie Ann Mathis. She was a homemaker and a retired LPN. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lacy B. Polk who died in 1994 and was also preceded in death by a son-in-law: Allen Weeks who died in 2005.
She is survived by her daughter: Barbara Weeks of Cairo; son: Bobby (Pat) Polk of Nashville; 3 sisters: Inez Bailey of Valdosta, Myrtice Sutton and Marie Clark both of Clewiston, Fl; 4 grandchildren: Lynn (Ben) Warren of Nashville, Bobby Ann (Tommy) Hester of Adel, Dennis Weaver of Cairo, and Ryan (Braxton) Harrell of Cairo; 7 great grandchildren: Dustin Warren, Catherine Warren, and Lindsey Warren all of Nashville, Ren Hester and Lacey Anna Hester both of Adel, Kylie Weaver and Parker Harrell both of Cairo; great great grandson: Keegan Livingston of Nashville.
Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday January 4, 2012 at 3 PM in Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Bernie Lewis officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
