Kenneth Ervin "Ken" Garren, 72, of Valdosta, died Sunday March 2, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born June 7, 1941 in Murphy, North Carolina to the late Edgar Garren and the late Christine Hensley. He was retired director with the Valdosta-Lowndes County Economic Development Authority. He was a member of the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife: Helen Gaskins Garren of Valdosta; 2 sons: Kenny (Heather) Garren of Winder and Kevin Garren of Valdosta; 2 grandchildren: Hannah Lyn Garren and Caleb Garren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 5, 2014 at 2 PM in the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Futch officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation is Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM.
