Obituary

Walter Kenneth "Slim" Lee, 84, of Alapaha, died Tuesday October 2, 2018 at his residence.

He was born August 15, 1934 in Irwin County to the late Richard Lee and the late Nina Davis Lee. He owned and operated his own trucking company, Ocilla Tire and Service Center and Ocilla Truck Stop. He was a member Glory United Methodist Church and he truly loved people and his community. He often showed his love for others through his talent of cooking and wanted all to eat. He was preceded in death by his wife: Oveda Horten Lee; 2 sisters: Velma Shrowder and Sara Vickers; 3 brothers: Vernon Lee, Otha Lee and Bill Lee.

He is survived by his daughter: Lynn (Mike) Griffin of Kennesaw; son: Kenny Lee of Alapaha; 3 grandchildren: Miranda (Thomas) Matthews of Valdosta, Caleb and Micah Griffin both of Kennesaw; 3 great grandchildren: Ryleigh, Emma and Lily; special friend: Debbie Heath of Alapaha.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 6, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Hauser and Mr. Harold Dillingham officiating. Interment will follow in Glory Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 6 to 8 PM.
