LaQuietta Purvis, 73, of Nashville, died Tuesday February 20, 2024 in the Langdale Hospice House.

She was born April 20, 1950 in Lowndes County to the late Eston Rowe and the late Emolois Hendley Rowe. She was a homemaker, worked at Open Door School and was a seamstress at Nashville Textile for many years. She loved her family, grandchildren and for several years loved keeping other children. She was a member of the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Cybil Rowe.

She is survived by her husband: Wendell Purvis of Nashville; daughter: Tammy (Charlie) Crosby of Nashville; son: Jason (Becky) Purvis of Nashville; 3 brothers: Earl (Linda) Rowe of Valdosta, Johnnie (Charlotte) Rowe of Augusta and Ronnie Rowe of Sweetwater, TN; 9 grandchildren: Gaven Purvis, Addyson Purvis, Andrew (Lindsey) Melton, Steven Melton, Emily Melton, Payton Crosby, Cassie Crosby, Brandon Crosby and Meranda Crosby; 2 great grandchildren: Cam Anderson and Bo Melton; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday February 23, 2024 at 2 PM in the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. J.W. Dukes III officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside cemetery. Visitation is Friday in the church one hour prior to the service.
