Larry Gene Mathis, 55, of Ray City, died Saturday February 8, 2025, at Berrien Oaks in Nashville.

He was born June 21, 1969, in Lanier County to the late Larry Mathis and the late Imogene Jordan Mathis. He was a tree expert for Asplunt for years, loved to fish and was known as a "neat freak". He was preceded in death by a son: Spencer Mathis and a sister: Glenda Boyd.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Tiffany Mathis of Ray City and Gina Nelms of Willacoochee; son: Markel Mathis of Tifton; 9 grandchildren: Levi Stenton, Brayden Roach, Dixie Roach, Georgia Roach, Isiah Smith, Antonio Mathis, Logan Mathis and Maci Mathis.

His family will have a visitation on Tuesday February 11, 2025, from 5 to 7 PM in the funeral home. No formal services will be held.
