Lavenia Thompson, 85, of Nashville died Sunday November 17, 2019 at SGMC - Berrien Campus.

She was born January 10, 1934 in Berrien County to the late Dan White and the late Ruby Lee Benefield.  She was a homemaker and a member of Hope Baptist Church.  She was the widow of R. C. Thompson who died December 2, 2017. She was also preceded in death by a daughter: Gail Thompson: 2 sisters: Mildred Warren and Sherlie Couch; and a grandson: Shane Thompson.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Lynn (John) Crosby of Nashville and Debora (Ronnie) Cook of Lakeland; son: Mike (Rhonda) Thompson of Nashville; sister: Martha Mingo of Waycross; brother: Revis Benefield of Lake Placid, FL; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 20, 2019 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard McNair and Rev. Vernon Hughes officiating.  Interment will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.  Visitation is Tuesday 6-8 PM.
