Leah Wayne Stallings, 83, of Nashville died Monday November 23, 2015 in South Georgia Medical Center.
He was born March 14, 1932 in Valdosta to the late Leah Stallings and the late Minnie Gaskins Stallings. He was a retired insurance agent/owner with State Farm Insurance for 42 years, a retired Brigadier General U.S. Army with 32 years of service; attended Gordon Military College in Barnesville and was a graduate of the University of Georgia. He was a member of Nashville First Baptist Church, long standing choir member and a past deacon. He was preceded in death by a brother: Ray Stallings.
He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Zeigler Stallings of Nashville; daughter: Lynn Stallings of Nashville; son: Lee (Jeanette) Stallings of Nashville; 3 grandchildren: Abigail, Isabelle, and Joseph; nieces and nephews: Carol Yancey of Nashville, Cheryll Johnston of Melbourne, FL, Kerry Kimsey of Moultrie, Kim Kimsey of Albany, Bob Stallings of Lake Wales, FL and Buck Stallings of Tampa, FL; several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday November 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Nashville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Ray and Rev. Stanley Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Friday from 6-8.
