Leannah Mapes Ulmer, 96, of Ray City, died Friday June 2, 2023 at SGMC Berrien Campus.

She was born October 25, 1926 in Jackson County, Alabama. She toured the rodeo circuit as a trick rider from 1945 to 1975 and was known as "Flaming Star". She was the widow of Clifford Dale Ulmer who died in 2021.

She is survived by a son: Tony Edwards of Ray City; grandson: Jason Ray of Ray City; nephew: John Smith of Nashville; 2 brothers-in-law: Delmar (Idella) Ulmer of Atlanta and Walter Ulmer, Jr of Atlanta;; sister-in-law: Jean Ulmer-Ollison of Canton, OH

Her family will honor her request for cremation and no formal services will be held.
