Leaouns Oglethorpe Griffin, 90, of West Berrien, died Tuesday March 22, 2022 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.

He was born February 26, 1932 in Berrien County to the late Walton Griffin and the late Cora Lee McClellan. He was a retired farmer, security guard and was associated with the former Farmers Livestock Auction Co.  Mr. and Mrs. Griffin were married for 67 years and he was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by sisters: Vera Wetherington, Nellie Lee Woody, Emma Stipick and a brother: Marion Griffin. Daughter in law: Nancy Griffin and Son in law: Jack Hullett.

He is survived by his wife: Mattie Jean Osteen Griffin of West Berrien; 3 daughters: Deborah Hullett of West Berrien; Teresa (Freddy) Griffin of West Berrien and Rhonda (Charles) Kent of Kathleen, GA; 2 sons: Johnny Griffin of West Berrien and Obie (Brenda) Griffin of West Berrien; sister: Vernell Vaughn of West Berrien. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and numerous bonus grand and great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Friday March 25, 2022 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with Elder Jim Sandlin and Elder Tony Marshall officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM at Lovein Funeral Home.
