Lena Grace "Teeny" Giddens, 99, of Nashville died Wednesday February 11, 2015 in the Berrien Nursing Center.
She was born June 14, 1915 in Mystic, Ga to the late Joshua Walker Pierce and the late Eddie Florence Robinson Pierce. She was a homemaker, member of Nashville First Baptist Church, graduated from Ocilla High School and attended the Georgia State Women's College. She was the widow of Harley Whaley who died in 1973 and Holmes Giddens who died in 2000. She was preceded in death by her sisters Annell Pierce and Ollirete Pierce and a brother J. W. Pierce.
In her lifetime she had been very active in the Nashville Woman's Club and in its early years served as a teacher in the kindergarten program and had been recognized as a "Woman of the Year."
She is survived by 2 step daughters, Patsy Adams of Nashville and Margaret Ann Ebmeyer of Alpharetta, several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Allene Whaley Troka of Glennville. She was also the God Mother of Pattie Harvey Robinson of Athens.
Funeral services will be held at Mystic Baptist Church Saturday February 14, 2015 at 2pm. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorials are requested to the Nashville First Baptist Church or the Mystic Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
