Lewis Oliver Register, 79, of Hahira died Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at SGMC in Valdosta.

He was born September 1, 1946, in Clinch County to the late Razzie Oliver Register and the late Mildred Hillard Register. He was an install repairman with Southern Bell for 33 years and a Vietnam veteran with the United States Air Force. He was a deacon at Hahira First Baptist Church and loved fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He is preceded in death by a brother: Raymond Register; sister: Juanita Stokes.

He is survived by his wife: Jean Cromer Register of Hahira; son Mike (Sheila) Register of Nashville; 2 daughters: Melissa (Dale) Whitmer of Hahira and Michelle (Rob) Reynolds of Hahira; 7 grandchildren: Bradley Dumas, Kristin Dumas, Case Reynolds, Aubrey Reynolds, Tyler (Brooke) Register, Colton Register and Hali Fountain; 2 great-grandchildren: Peighton Register and David Register; brother: Jerry Register of Valdosta; sister: Gail Osborne of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, 2026, at 4 PM in the Hahira First Baptist Church with Rev. David Gordon and Rev. Clyde Stokes officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church 2 hours prior to the service.
