Lillian Louise Mickel, 81, of Nashville, died Friday April 6, 2018 at her residence.
She was born March 17, 1937 in Valdosta to the late Fred Joseph Carlo and the late Hattie Louise Harpe Carlo. She was a retired practical nurse serving in various hospitals, graduate of Valdosta High School Class of 1955 and a member of the Christ Life Tabernacle, The More Excellent Way. She was the widow of Harold Franklin Mickel and was also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Hazel Barr; granddaughter: Hope Mickel; grandson: Ron Thomas, Jr.
She is survived by her companion: Betty Slocumb Spires of Nashville; 3 sons: Harold Mickel, Jr of Charleston, SC, Hal Joseph Mickel of Cochran and Donald Farris Mickel of Vienna; step daughter: Cynthia Claire Spires; step son: Robert Weber Spires of Athens; 2 sisters: Shirley McKenzie of Brusley, LA and Lila (Berney) Armstrong of Valdosta; brother: Fred Joseph (Ann) Carlo, Jr of Valdosta; 10 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 3 God daughters: Beverly Burnette of Tampa, FL, Latoya Faxon of Tampa, FL and Barbara Jackson of Tallahassee, FL.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 10, 2018 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Beverly Burnette, Rev. Steven Mitchell, Rev. Gloria Wood, Rev. Stephen Norris and the Rev. Creston Hulett officiating. Interment will follow at 4 PM in the Concord Cemetery north of Greenville, FL. off Highway 150. Visitation is Monday from 7 to 9 PM.
