Obituary

Lincoln Gaskins, 84, of Alapaha, died Thursday August 2, 2018 at his residence.

He was born April 22, 1934 in Berrien County to the late Walter Tatem Gaskins and the late Ruby Rowe Gaskins. He was a retired sawyer with the Hubert Moore Lumber Company, member of the Alapaha Baptist Church and former Fire Chief for Town of Alapaha. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Eula Mae Brown, Emma Lois Adams and Ima Jean Smith; 7 brothers: Brinston, James, Jesse, Hubert, Leo, Denzil and Kenneth Gaskins.

He is survived by his wife: Janice Ray Sanderson Gaskins of Alapaha; daughter: Darlene (Norman) Bruce of Kingsland; 2 sisters: Betty (Roger) Tumbleston of Eustis, FL, Juanita Reeves of Leesburg, FL; 2 grandchildren: Ryan (Christina) Bruce and Katherine Bruce; great granddaughter: Wren Bruce.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 4, 2018 at 11 AM in the Alapaha Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl McHan and Rev. Robbie Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in the Fletcher Cemetery. Visitation is at the church one hour prior to the service.
