Obituary

Lois Ella Cumbus, 86, of Ray City died Sunday August 9, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 27, 1934 in Berrien County to the late Jim Gunter and the late Ella Mae Harper Gunter.  She was a homemaker and was employed with the Berrien County Hospital as a food service worker for sixteen years.  She was a member of New Covenant Church and the widow of Ancil Eugene Cumbus who died in 2012.  She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Lorene Rayburn, Essie Mae Yeomans and Wilma Harper; brother: Jerome Gunter.

She is survived by 5 daughters: Grace Wood of Hahira, Jean Strawder of Nashville, Marilyn Strawder of Nashville, Melba Evans of Nashville, and Debra Fountain of Lake Park; 4 sons: David Cumbus of Ray City, Junior Cumbus of Nashville, Jimmy Kersey of Moultrie, and Paul Kersey of Brookfield; 26 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 10 AM in Fellowship Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Palmer officiating.  Visitation will be held in the cemetery prior to the service.
