Obituary

Lois Wynell Tatum Bristol, 83, of Nashville, died Saturday July 9, 2011 in the South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness.

She was born February 5, 1928 in Berrien County to the late Christopher Columbus "Lum" and the late Gidner Bass Tatum. She was retired from Glasstream Boats and she was of the Pentacostal faith.

Mrs. Bristol devoted much of her time caring for and nurturing her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her home was where the family met for Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas celebrations, because, Mrs. Bristol loved cooking for her family more than anything else. Her home was always welcomed to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, many of whom she raised or helped raise.

She is survived by her daughters: Mary Nell (Jackie) Gaskins of Nashville, Judy (Tyler) Craig of Douglas, and Debra (Darrell) Hill of Nashville; sister: Sarah Jarboe of Riverview, Florida; grandchildren: Stacy Zanders, Jennifer Zanders, Rodney (Jenny) Smith, Tanya (Dusty) Bailey, Windell Gaskins, and Kyrin Hill; great grandchildren: Calvin Scott, Kelsey Fussell, Madison Tayler Smith, Lance Bailey, Dalton Bailey, LaJacklin Zanders, and one 2nd great grandson: Devin Scott.

She was preceded in death by her first husband: Junior Bristol, sister: Lucille Tatum Mathis, and beloved grandchildren: Matthew Hill and Michael Rollins.

Pallbearers are Rodney Smith, Calvin Scott, Dusty Bailey, David Floyd, Bobby Singletary, and Junior Clayton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 12, 2011 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Raymond Cason and the Rev. R.T. Castleberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 7 to 9 PM.
