Lois Lorraine Nelson, 90, of Nashville died Thursday December 27, 2018 in Berrien Nursing Center.

She was born October 22, 1928 in Burlington, VT to the late Edmond Joseph Shepard and the late Clara Katherine Sibley Shepard.  She was a homemaker, registered nurse, member of Nashville United Methodist Church and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.  She was the widow of Dr. Fred Leon Nelson, Jr. who died in 2017  and was also preceded in death by a son, Allan Nelson who died in 2018.

She is survived by her daughter: Mary Lou (Steven) Goehring of Hoschton; son: Gregory (Leslie) Nelson of Richmond, VA; 5 grandchildren: Lisa (Jamie) Luke, Chris (Sarah Gray) Swindell, Stephanie (James) Harms, Lee B. (Deborah) Nelson and Kelly (Kevin) Jacobson; 6 great grandchildren: Connor Luke, John Patrick Luke, Lydia Katherine Luke, Rainn Jacobson, Elianna Nelson and Brandon Nelson;  sister: Barbara Katherine Cheney of Bridport, VT.

Funeral services will be held Sunday December 30, 2018 at 2 PM in the Nashville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Addington officiating.  Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday 4-6 PM.
