Obituary

Lucy King Griffin, 91, of Albany, died Monday January 27, 2014 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital North Campus.

She was born April 28, 1922 in Berrien County to the late James Richard King and the late Martha Ida Guthrie. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was well known throughout the southeast region as a local entertainer, "Madam Lucille". She was the widow of James Henry "J.H." Griffin and was preceded in death by 3 brothers: J.U. King, A.T. King, and Franklin Brown King.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Dinah Griffin of Fairburn and Deborah Griffin of Albany; 2 sons: Greg Griffin of Vicksburg,MS and Richard Griffin of Rome; 2 grandsons: Clint Risley of Fairburn and Chris (Daniela Velez) Risley of Marietta; great granddaughter: Sofia Estella Risley; nephews: Gerald King, Sherwood King, Jim King, and Brigadier General John King; several cousins.

Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday February 1, 2014 at 2 PM in the Long Bridge Cemetery. Visitation is Saturday from 11 AM until hour of services.
